Months of planning led us to the undeniably beautiful ceremony. There would have been no better way to start our lives as husband wife. From the time Michael suggested the boathouse as a site for the wedding, never would I have imagined how gorgeous a setting it would be. The weather was glorious, the tide was in, the flowers that my mother had arranged were lovely, and Ray’s tent enclosed the space with the right amount of formality.

Laurie and Dan Ward stepped in as wedding planners once we asked Dan to be our officiant. Laurie donated her time to choosing the music, and helped with the details of how we used the unique space that was the background for our vows, and performed the music with her daughter Margaret. Dan organized and wrote the ceremony, helping us with the parts that we could personalize, and creating a ceremony reflecting both the partnership we were beginning as well as incorporating the river setting around us.

Of all the beautiful pictures and lovely memories of the day, the one that means the most to me is the smile on my new husbands face, the love and happiness that he showed me that day in a way I had never seen it before.

Tomatoes!

The wide variety of tomatoes Michael planted in the spring are producing a rainbow of tomatoes! BLT’s, bruschetta, panzanella….. we are eating well!

I think my favorite way to eat them is chopped up with onion, basil, garlic, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and some cubes of toast. Last week we made pizza on the grill, topped with fresh chunked heirloom tomatoes, mozzarella, garlic, basil, and parmesan. the dough goes on the grill, top with olive oil, turn after 1 minute, add veges and cheese, and grill another 5 or 6 minutes. yum yum yum.

Quinn took these great pictures at my father’s 80th birthday party. I hadn’t imagined the weekend would go as well as it did. Everyone had a great time especially my father who loved having his children and grandchildren all together.

I ran a ‘race’ this morning with my running group. I’m not sure what happened but I felt awful half way through and had a terrible run. What a disappointment! I have been running and working out so much! I guess running in a race is just different. I will try another one in a few weeks and see if I do any better. This was not fun….. it was hard.

‘This is Miss Heather! I know, Janice, that you remember Denna. I’m sure Kevin and Kelly do, too, but don’t know if Danny will. Anyway, she was teaching in GA last week and had a seizure. Turns out she had an aneurysm leaking in her brain. She had brain surgery and is now in a medically induced coma. Please pray for her! She has a website on CaringBridge.org if you want to leave her a message.

My running partner, Kam, now has a serious boyfriend who lives in Annapolis. Is Maryland going to swallow up all my running partners? Are you still running with your group? It is already SO HOT here. Kam likes to run in the sun and later in the day. I Miss You!

Last Sunday was wonderful because I got to celebrate my mom with both my parents and my brother’s family. But it was a lot of driving and busy-ness. Today I took Sunday off…. I went to a yoga workshop this morning which was just a little challenging, but it had live music! Since it was a Sunday morning, they chose a gospel singer and he was fun to listen to. I am not going to try and get too much done with the resto of the day. A couple of things for work… read the paper… ahhhh, Sunday!

Thanks for the recent posts and comments. I have had a number of bouts with homesickness and loneliness. But I know they will pass as long as I concentrate on the positive stuff. I am SO thankful for keeping in touch, it makes a world of difference. Keep it up and I won’t get MY nose pierced!

So summer classes start tomorrow morning.. yay! and all of my best friends are leaving in the morning for europe/hundourus (liz) so im gonna be a little lonely but i’m actually gonna be pretty busy. I’m doing the research thing I think I told you about (documentary type thing about really sick kids), and I’m pretty excited about it. And guess who is coming into town tuesday night on his way back to school? RICKY! haha I think we’re going to grab lunch or something. AND guess who I saw last night?? JOEY! haha he’s doing pretty well we had a good long chat and caught up on a lot, he’s in the process of the lsat and applying to law school. and that’s all the interesting/exciting news i have =)

I joined a beginning womens running group, and they run on Saturday morning. They don’t go very far. They don’t go very fast. But I am finding great new places to run and I don’t have to run by myself!!! There are about 10 in my group and it’s got some potential……

After the run I spent an hour at Harris Teeter oogling the yummy food, packed up lunch, and joined Michael at the boathouse for some fishing. We had a lot of bites and it was great fun. A beautiful sunny day, a bit breezy, and I learned a little about casting. I have finally left the ranks of ‘total spaz.’ Michael is patient!!

I’m Back!

OK so that was so much easier than I thought lol. I don’t have any pictures that really show the nose ring cause it’s really small BUT I’ll take some model shots for you soon =D.

So, life is going really well.. The weather is AMAZING! We’ve been going to the pool and running and wearing shorts and FL weather is officially back. I’ve signed up for all my classes, I think I have a research opportunity lined up (it’s a woman that’s doing documentaries about really sick kids and how it effects their lives..), doing well in classes, re-bonding with the Kayla/Miguel group thanks to my crush/dates with Andrew (so cute and nice! we’re going to hang out tonight after my time with the girls, but don’t worry I’m not getting too attached or anything, I just enjoy hanging with him), and just enjoying everything! I’m going to lunch with Michael tomorrow after golf with Kevin, and I’m not sure how well it’s going to go I’ll let you know..

I miss you so much!! It’s so weird to be homesick after moving back home.. But I guess the realy “home” part is the people not the place =( It’s weird not being able to see you/dad/danny whenever I want to. Can’t wait for July!!
